The Volt badge at the rear of the electric hybrid car traces its roots to a Haryana-based component supplier Polyplastics. "We at GM India are fiercely proud about the Volt badge and the fact that it is produced in India," sources in GM said. Polyplastics, a leading manufacturer of badges, emblems and monograms, leverages the hot stamping, electroplating and painting techniques for developing these products to global standards. The precision plastic engineering supplier provides electroplated emblems and monograms to Ford, Toyota and General Motors and has now also become integrated in many of their global supply chains.

Polyplastics also meets international specifications of gold plating and commands a large market share in the emblem and monogram market in India producing over 400,000 emblems monthly.
