As part of its 125th anniversary celebrations, the Bosch Group is expanding its higher education funding and launching a new global initiative. The Group will invest 50 million euros to support universities and research projects in Germany, India, China and the USA over a 10-year period. In India, the Bosch intercampus Program will aim to groom experts of the future. Under the umbrella of the Bangalore-based Indian Institute of Science, Bosch is establishing the new “Robert Bosch Center for Research in Cyber Physical Systems” at Bangalore. The new Centre will promote applied research in the chosen domains of cyber physical systems, mobility solutions and renewable energy. India will get lion’s share of that amount at 22.8 million euros.
Bosch will also make available some 15 million euros for three top German institutes including the RWTH Aachen, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the University of Stuttgart. In the US, Bosch is supporting the Bosch Energy Research Network which is a joint project of top 10 North American universities to pursue research in alternative energy, photovoltaic, batteries and electro-mobility.
In China, Bosch will invest a further five million euros over a 10-year period to drive research into eco-friendly technologies. The company will expand five exiting professorships in applied scientific activities related to alternative energy technologies.
