August 1, 2013: Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) has recorded cumulative sales of 48,704 units in July 2013, a month in which the company undertook its planned periodic annual maintenance shutdown of its production facilities. These figures include those of vehicles exported.
Total sales of HMIL stood at 52,845 units in the corresponding month in 2012.
In the domestic market, sales for July were 25,965 units, down by six percent over year-earlier month sales of 27,585 units. Rakesh Srivastava, senior VP, sales and marketing, HMIL said, “Volumes are under pressure despite attractive consumer promotion as customer and market sentiments continue to be suppressed. The frequent price increase on the fuel front on account of depreciating rupee has further increased the challenge to grow volumes.”
