Hyundai Motor India launches new Elantra at Rs 12.99 lakh
The Elantra, first introduced in India in June 2012, has sold a total of 13,812 units – 4,187 of them petrol and 9,625 diesel.
Hyundai today launched the new Elantra sedan for the India market. The new Elantra is priced at Rs 12.99 lakh for the base petrol variant and Rs 14.79 lakh for the diesel model (ex-showroom Delhi). The new Elantra takes on the likes of the Skoda Octavia, Chevrolet Cruze and Volkswagen Jetta in India.
The new Elantra will be powered by a choice of two engines – a 2.0-litre petrol producing 152hp and 190Nm of torque, and a 1.6-litre diesel developing 128hp and 265Nm of torque. It will also feature two driving modes – Eco and Sport. The new car has a boot capacity of 458 litres and clearance of 170mm.

The 2016 Elantra will be available in five trim levels – S, SX, SX AT, SX(O), SX(O) AT. Both the manual and auto gearbox are six-speed units. The top trim is expected to get a long list of features such as LED tail-lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, and dual-zone climate control.
