Hyundai 2020 Creta receives over 115,000 bookings in 6 months of launch

The company says over 60% customers have booked diesel-powered Creta variants.

Hyundai Motor India has announced receiving over 115,000 bookings for its popular midsize SUV, the Creta whose second-generation model was launched on March 16, 2020.

Interestingly, the Hyundai Creta has gone home to over 520,000 customers across India since its launch in 2015. In terms of demand, the OEM says over 60 percent of customers have booked diesel variants of the midsize SUV.

Commenting on the milestone, Tarun Garg, director – Sales, Marketing and Service, Hyundai Motor India said, “It is indeed a moment of pride for Hyundai as the all-new Creta has emerged as the customer’s brand of choice when considering SUVs. The overwhelming response reiterates trust and love of the Indian customers in the Creta brand name."

He added, "The Hyundai Creta has set another benchmark in the industry with over 520,000 sales mark since its launch in 2015. Owing to the blockbuster success of our super performing brands, Hyundai’s passenger vehicle market share in January-September 2020 stood at 17.6 percent. Further, the new Creta recorded sale of 12,325 units in September 2020, continuing to top the sales charts in its segment.”

The demand for all-new Creta has witnessed strong response since its launch in March 2020, which propelled Hyundai’s market share in the SUV segment to 26 percent in CY January-September 2020.  According to Hyundai Motor India, the Creta SUV is also the most researched model on its end-to-end car buying platform ‘Click to Buy’ with over 1,100 bookings. The Bluelink enabled variants of the new Creta also received a strong  response with over 25,000 customers opting for connected SUVs.
