Hyundai India sells 50,313 units in September, up 23%
Led by demand for the new second-generation Creta, the carmaker is optimistic of green shoots in PV segment’s recovery.
Hyundai Motor India (HMI) sold 50,313 units last month (September 2019: 40,705 / +23.6%). The company has bettered its growth trajectory over the last few months with September performance showing a 10 percent uptick over that of 45,809 units sold in August 2020.
Its newly launched second-generation Creta is making waves and going at an unstoppable pace even in a dull market environment. The midsized SUV emerged as the No. 1 UV in the country in August by going home to 11,758 buyers. Apart from the immensely popular Creta, the carmaker’s other models including the Venue compact crossover and the latest Grand i10 Nios and Aura twins are also seeing reasonable traction with the consumer.
According to Tarun Garg, director, Sales, Marketing and Service, HMI, “In the changing business environment, the green shoots are clearly visible with sales improving on a month-on-month as well as year-on-year basis. HMI continued its sales momentum driven by high customer acceptance for the all-new Creta, Venue, Grand i10 Nios and Aura, as well Kona EV.”
“We are confident that the coming festive season will drive the market on a steady recovery path with positive customer sentiments,” Garg remarked.
