New Delhi, June 27, 2013: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the 2013 model year edition of its CBR 250R sports bike, as both standard and ABS-equipped variants.

The bike, which comes in four new global colours -- Sports Red, Black, Pearl Sunbeam White and a Limited Edition – Repsol colour -- will available for sale across all HMSI dealerships by the end of this month. Pricing ranges from Rs 1.56 lakh for the standard Sports Red model through to Rs 1.92 lakh for the Repsol limited edition.

The limited edition Repsol colour CBR 250R will be available for sale only till October 2013 as a C-ABS variant. The model incorporates the advanced Combined Anti-lock Braking System. The CBR 250R, which was introduced in March 2011, is powered by a liquid-cooled 250cc, 4-stroke, 4-valve single-cylinder DOHC engine which develops 26bhp.

In November 2012, in the first-ever recall by a two-wheeler OEM in India, HMSI went about replacing the faulty front brake master cylinder assembly on its standard CBR 250R. The ABS-equipped variant was not under the scanner. The official announcement came following customer complaints of limited effectiveness of the front brake from owners of the sports bike. To set the problem right, HMSI, recalled 11,500 standard variant CBR 250Rs manufactured between March 2011-September 2012 at its Manesar plant.
