November 19, 2012: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has issued a recall for 11,500 standard variant CBR250R bikes manufactured between March 2011-September 2012 for a limited front brake malfunction. According to the company, the malfunction will not make a difference to overall braking from the front and rear brakes under normal riding conditions, but does cause limited effectiveness of front brake application in certain cases. Authorised Honda dealers have begun to inform customers whose motorcycles require attention, and customers can also visit the HMSI website.

Honda is giving its customers prior appointments to avoid prolonged waits for vehicle inspection, and repairs, if required, will be carried out within an hour. Honda is rectifying the problem on all bikes that require it, at its expense, even if the motorcycle is outside its warranty period.

HMSI sold 3,338 units of this premium motorcycle in the April-October 2012 period.
