Honda companies donate Rs 3 crore for flood relief in Jammu & Kashmir

Group companies of Japanese multinational, Honda Motor Company, in India (Honda Cars India, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, Honda Siel Power Products, Honda R&D (India) and Honda Motor India), have announced a contribution of Rs 3 crore towards the relief and recovery efforts in Jammu & Kashmir. The contribution is aimed at providing relief and rehabilitation for affected people and reconstruction of areas devastated by the floods and landslides that hit the state this month.

Cheques amounting to Rs 3 crores were given to the prime minister’s Office for the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund yesterday.

Commenting on the severity of the devastation, Yoshiyuki Matsumoto, managing officer, Honda Motor Co and president & CEO, Honda Motor India said, “We express condolences and deepest sympathy to all the affected people who lost their near and dear ones, their homes and their livelihoods in this massive calamity. We hope that this contribution will help in restoration of the devastated infrastructure and help rebuild lives of the affected people.”
