HMSI seeks FIPB permission to open single brand retail stores

May 16, 2013: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has sought government permission for opening up of single-brand retail stores in the country, according to a PTI report that quotes the secretary in the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) Saurabh Chandra. HMSI has proposed to sell products like two-wheeler motorcycles, spare parts and accessories in their stores, the report added. At present, these are sold through franchisees, the report stated.
