Hero MotoCorp to unveil new identity on Aug 9 in London
It’s finally official. Hero Honda Motors has now been formally renamed as Hero MotoCorp Ltd. The company has obtained statutory approvals from the Registrar of Companies (RoC) today for the changeover to the new name.

The new name is the first step in the rebranding exercise that kicked off earlier this year. Hero MotoCorp Ltd. will unveil its new global brand identity on August 9, 2011 in London.
Dr Brijmohan Lall, Chairman, Hero MotoCorp, said “Today is a historic day. It is not just a change of name; it marks the ushering in of a new era that will unlock the immense potential of this company to build its own capabilities to grow beyond boundaries and set new benchmarks.”
Wolff Olins, a part of the Omnicom group, was hired to work on the new brand identity that includes brand architecture, brand name, brand logo and brand positioning. Law & Kenneth (L&K) will devise the communication for launching and establishing the new brand.
Hero Honda and Honda of Japan announced their formal parting of ways in December 2010. Among its best-selling bikes is the Splendor. The Indian partner has been on a roll with sales hitting the 500,000 numbers over the last four months till June.
