Hero MotoCorp to set up global parts centre in Rajasthan
July 26, 2012: Hero MotoCorp has announced a fresh investment of Rs 160 crore to set up a global parts centre (GPC) at Neemrana, Rajasthan, 85km from Manesar in Haryana.
July 26, 2012: Hero MotoCorp has announced a fresh investment of Rs 160 crore to set up a global parts centre (GPC) at Neemrana, Rajasthan, 85km from Manesar in Haryana. The state-of-the-art parts centre will be spread over 35 acres and will deploy modern equipment and management systems such as an automated storage and retrieval system, automated packaging and sorting system, warehouse management system and lean manufacturing systems. The planned GPC will employ 400 skilled workers and is expected to become operational by the third quarter of 2013-14.
The announcement was made by Pawan Munjal, managing director and chief executive officer, Hero MotoCorp at a three-day global supply chain partners conference at St Petersburg, Russia. Hosted by Hero MotoCorp, the conference was attended by over 125 of its top component suppliers who came from India, China, Thailand, Japan and Europe. The company had recently announced investments worth Rs 2,575 crore in setting up two new plants, an R&D centre and expansion of existing plants.
