Hero MotoCorp's Sanjay Bhan calls it a day
The Head of Sales, Aftersales and Parts at Hero MotoCorp is learnt to have put in his papers, bringing a 30-year innings at the company to an end.
Sanjay Bhan, Head – Sales, Aftersales and Parts, Hero MotoCorp, is learnt to have resigned from his role in the company. With this move, Bhan brings to an end a nearly 30-year-stint at the two-wheeler major. He had joined Hero MotoCorp (then Hero Honda) in 1991 at a sales function in Vadodara. Information about Bhan's successor is not available yet.
As the head of marketing, Bhan was responsible for the launch of the Hero brand in 2011, after the Delhi-headquartered company diluted the joint venture with Honda Motor Co. He was also responsible for customer care, parts business, and global parts centre operations.
Bhan's resignation comes at a time when the auto industry is facing a severe slowdown. Hero MotoCorp, and many other OEMs, had to engage in a major inventory correction drive in the market.
Prior to joining Hero MotoCorp, Bhan, who has an MBA from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, had worked in Dunlop India.
