Hero MotoCorp partners with UP police, gives 50 two-wheelers under CSR

Hero MotoCorp under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has given out around 400 two-wheelers to state police departments of Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Telangana and UP.

Hero MotoCorp partners with UP police, gives 50 two-wheelers under CSR

Homegrown and world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp, has partnered with the Uttar Pradesh police department and provided 50 two-wheelers under its “Shakti and Garud” project. 

Under the initiative Hero MotoCorp presented 20 Hero Duet scooters and 30 Hero Achiever motorcycles to Gautam Budh Nagar police officers that would be used for patrolling and official purposes. The two-wheelers will come equipped with sirens, flash lights, public address (PA) systems and other essential police accessories.  

Speaking at the event, Vijay Sethi, CIO and head - CSR, Hero MotoCorp, said, "The Company has various initiatives across national and regional levels. Our decision to extend our CSR drive to Uttar Pradesh is a reaffirmation of the longstanding commitment. We have already associated with police department of Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Telangana; and now we extend this association to Uttar Pradesh.” 

Hero MotoCorp since the year 2016, has provided around 400 two-wheelers to different state police departments under various initiatives. 

The company under other initiatives has adopted a traffic training park at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh,  that’s equipped with riding simulators and other facilities, for ‘Road Safety’ awareness programs that are conducted regularly for school and college students and other institutions in partnership with the local Traffic Police. The company also runs a ‘Responsible Citizen Program’ with the Uttar Pradesh Police to promote road safety in the region. 

Ride Safe India, is another initiative that conducts nationwide programs for promoting road safety, and has additionally adopted Traffic Parks at Hyderabad, Gurugram, Delhi, Rourkela and Nagpur.
