Hero Motocorp launches new Super Splendor, looks to hike 125cc market share
Targeted at young professionals, the latest Hero motorcycle is aimed at enabling the company to further consolidates its 55 percent share in the 125cc commuter motorcycle segment.
Hero MotoCorp, the country's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, today launched the new Super Splendor commuter motorcycle, priced at Rs 57,585 (ex-showroom Bangalore.
Targeted at young professionals, the latest Hero motorcycle is aimed at enabling the company to further consolidates its 55 percent share in the 125cc commuter motorcycle segment.
Commenting on the new product, Ashok Bhasin, Head -Sales & Customer Care, Hero Motocorp said, "The new Super Splendor retains the core attributes of one of India’s most reliable brands -- Splendor."
The new Super Splendor is powered by a new air-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder OHC 125cc TOD (Torque-on-Demand) engine which develops 8.4ps at 7500rpm and maximum torque of 11 Nm at 6000rpm. The motorcycle also features Hero’s i3Sidle stop-start system. Hero claims the new Super Splendor produces 27 percent more power and 6 percent more torque than its previous generation. The bike has a top speed of 94kph.
Other product highlights include all-time headlamp on (AHO), side-stand indicator and side reflector.
