Hero MotoCorp launches 125cc “Ignitor”

July 3, 2012: Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has further strengthened its presence in the deluxe segment with the launch of its new motorcycle – Hero “Ignitor”.

Close on the heels of the first “Hero” branded scooter Maestro, which was launched just over a month ago, Her MotoCorp has launched the “Ignitor”. The 125cc bike is priced at Rs. 55,900 for the drum-self-cast variant and Rs. 57,900 for the disc-self-cast variant (both prices ex-showroom Delhi).

The Ignitor, is a rebadged Honda CB Stunner. It comes with a 125 cc engine which offers a peak power output of 11PS at 8000rpm. The sporty looking bike comes with features such as digital-analog combo meter console, split seat, front cowl, striking trapezoidal headlight and adjustable rear shock-absorbers.

The Ignitor is the third bike from Hero MotoCorp in the 125cc segment. The others are Glamour and the Super Splendor. After the Maestro and the Ignitor, the 110cc motorcycle “Passion X Pro” could be the next offering from Hero MotoCorp. All these products were showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo.

Hero MotoCorp has maintained its leadership position with sales of 5,34,091 last month. June was the 11th successive month of five lakh-plus unit sales for Hero MotoCorp.
