From battery diagnosis to LED daytime running lights, Hella will present an innovative spectrum of products and services at Frankfurt in September. At this year's Automechanika in Frankfurt to be held from September 12-17, automotive lighting and electronics, OEM and aftermarket supplier Hella will present product-range extensions in the four core fields of competence — Light, Electronics, Electrics and Thermal Management —as well as an expanded range of services for the automotive aftermarket and independent garages.

In Hall 3.0/ Stand D.91, visitors can obtain specific information about new products, as well as advice from a Hella specialist. The new air-conditioning service units SECUsmart and SECUmobile from Behr Hella Service will be demonstrated live on the Hella stand. Also on the stand are terminals for trying out the Internet-based Hella Online Training that the automotive supplier is offering as the optimum supplement to practical technical training in time for Automechanika 2006. In addition, Hella is showing a selection of new products from its range of electronic parts, which in the last two years has been extended by more than 850 items.

A highlight in the accessories sector is Hella's retrofit LED daytime running lights. They are notable for their high signalling effect, power consumption of five to 11 watts, long service life and multi-voltage function for 12- and 24-volt vehicle electric systems. With the LED daytime running lights, Hella is supporting once again the aim of increasing road safety during the day without burdening the environment through additional fuel consumption.

These retrofitted lights are designed for warning effectiveness during daylight and switch on automatically when the engine is started. The rest of the vehicle lighting is then not in operation and, with a power consumption of about 16 watts, additional fuel consumption is therefore not measurable. The daytime running lights carry out their task much better than normal low beam, which provides effective illumination of the road in the dark. In addition, their service life is up to 10 times higher than that of a halogen bulb for low beam.
