Greta Electric to set up new 30,000-unit capacity plant 

The company said that its products offer a range of 100 km per charge.

Greta Electric Scooters is setting up a manufacturing unit at Faridabad. The manufacturing facility has a capacity of producing 30,000 units annually and will manufacture all models. The company said that this move aims to expand its footprint in the Northern Indian market. 

The company said that its products offer a range of 100 km per charge. All their four models come with DRL, EBS, reverse mode, ATA System, smart shift, digital instrument cluster display, keyless start, disc brakes and anti-theft alarm.

Raj Mehta, Founder of Greta Electric Scooters, said, “We intend to look at local talent to fill vacancies that our expansion drive opens up."

This new facility comes at a time when the Indian electric two-wheeler sales have been witnessing a significant growth over the last few months. In the month of April 2022 around 49,000 units were sold which is a significant growth. Top contributors include Ola Motors (12,698 units), Okinawa (11,010 units), Hero Electric (6,576 units), Ampere (6,539 units) and Ather (2,447 units). The sales of these EVs have grown significantly in recent times. Ola took the lead for the month of April 2022, taking the crown from Hero Electric who was at number one in February and March 2022.
