Greaves Cotton inks 7-year pact for supply of diesel engines for Atul Auto’s 3-wheelers

Mumbai, July 12, 2012: Greaves Automotive Engines Business, part of Greaves Cotton, has entered into a 7-year supply agreement with Atul Auto for supply of diesel engines for the latter’s three-wheelers.

Greaves Cotton inks 7-year pact for supply of diesel engines for Atul Auto’s 3-wheelers
Mumbai, July 12, 2012: Greaves Automotive Engines Business, part of Greaves Cotton, has entered into a 7-year supply agreement with Atul Auto for supply of diesel engines for the latter’s three-wheelers. Currently, Greaves engines power Atul Smart, Atul Shakti and Atul Gem vehicles plying across the country.

Sanjiv Kumar, CEO - Automotive Engines Business, said: "Greaves engines have been driving vehicles from the Atul Auto stable for almost three decades. This agreement has strengthened the business relationship further. With a customer-focused approach, we believe that our technologically superior engines backed by a strong aftermarket network will complement Atul Auto’s business plans and will together help grow the business.”

Its understanding of customer requirements, commitment to quality and highest service levels has catalysed and partnered our growth. With emerging categories in the auto segment, we believe that new vehicle platforms can be developed faster and more time efficiently with a partner we can trust.”

Greaves Automotive Division has a wide portfolio in automotive engines and it is the among the largest independent manufacturers of single-cylinder engines with a production of over 450,000 engines annually. These eco-friendly light diesel engines (which can be adapted to CNG/LPG usage) are supplied to major automotive players like Piaggio, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, and Scooters India among others.

The company’s manufacturing units are located at Ranipet in Tamil Nadu and Aurangabad in Maharashtra and are ISO/TS 16949 certified. Greaves Cotton has an aftermarket product support infrastructure throughout India with a countrywide network of offices and over 1,200 authorised dealers.
