Greaves Cotton, has announced that it will undertake technical training for the weaker section of society around its Aurangabad plant as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project 'Deep' that focusses on skilling people.
The engineering company has said that this project is a concerted effort to provide skill to those people who aspire to grow but lack financial support. Through Deep, it will provide technical training that will help the individuals work in assembly lines and get proficient in repairing engines. Talking about the company’s CSR initiative, Nagesh Basavanhalli said, “We are supporting the needy sections with reskilling programs under project Deep, as part of being a responsible conglomerate.”
Greaves Cotton aims to empower the 50 selected beneficiaries by helping them rise in knowledge, workmanship skills and become independent to earn and provide livelihood to many more such people. The beneficiaries will receive classroom training followed by a practical hands on approach that will help in boosting the confidence of these young students.
The company states that some of these beneficiaries will get an opportunity to get absorbed in the plant, which will raise substantial earnings for their family, thereby elevating their living standards. It has also provided cycles to all beneficiaries to enable them to travel to work. Through this re-skilling program, it aims for the beneficiaries to become future growth catalysts in their families and societies, around the company’s Aurangabad plant.
