July 10, 2013: GOEPEL Electronic, which is an approved vendor of functional test systems for the quality assurance of car seats in Lear Corporation’s BR205 series, is to supply its OsCAR G3 test system to Lear Car Seats. In January 2013, the first OsCAR G3 test systems were installed at the first Lear sites in Germany.
In the course of this year worldwide Lear Corporation branches in Germany, the US, South Africa, China and India will put car seat test systems from GOEPEL Electronic into operation. Car seats of the BR205 series will be used in the new Mercedes-Benz C-class. The OsCAR G3 test system basically executes ECU tests and checks additional electronic components inside the car seats. Furthermore, it can be utilised using an expansion stage as double car seat test system enabling the entire seat set to be tested. OsCAR is a versatile functional car seat test system that can be configured for specific test requirements and UUT (unit under test) with minimal modification and reprogramming effort. Because of the test system’s automatic seat identification system, it can be used to test each car seat of each automobile manufacturer. However, special car seat manufacturers’ requirements are met by specific conceptions in the respective test system series.
The test system provides a fast and simple parameterisation of components in car seats. Users will be able to generate test programs and implement preconfigurations with little prior experience. GOEPEL Electronic’s seat tester can also be utilised offline to either execute programming and parameterisation tasks, or to simulate test runs and compare the results with real tests at a later point in time.
The Germany-based GOEPEL electronic, which is a vendor of intelligent automotive test solutions – ranging from bus communication, ECU test up to functional test systems for vehicle control units –runs service and support offices in the USA, UK, France, India and China.
