GM India honours best technicians at Chevrolet dealerships

The annual ‘Chevy Smartech’, ‘Customer Evangelist’ and ‘Super Advisor’ awards were announced recently to recognise some of the best technicians at Chevrolet dealers in India. Through this contest held annually, GM India dealers understand the improvements required in systems and processes apart from training on how to serve the customers better. The prestigious recognition is given to the best candidates and through this contest they are motivated to raise the bar even further.
The programme was conducted at GMI Training Center, Talegaon Plant on November 21, 2014, and it saw a commendable performance by various Chevrolet service advisors, customer relationship executives and technicians. Arvind Saxena, president and managing director; S K Garg, plant manager for Talegaon; Asif Khatri, director of quality; Manoranjan Dhar, director of quality (Plant) and Vivek Sahasrabuddhey, director, product planning and program management, were present on the occasion to award and inspire the technicians.
A total of 20 participants for each category made it to the ‘Grand Finale’ after being taken through comprehensive tests involving written tests, role plays, on-board vehicle diagnostics and viva tests. Out of the 20 participants, the top six competed in the Grand Finale while the top three were awarded with trophies, certificates and cash prizes by all distinguished judges.
For the ‘Chevy Smartech’ category, the winning position was secured by Nidheesh KM of Geeyem Motors, Thrissur, Kerala. For the ‘Customer Evangelist’ category, the winner was Ms. Sarala V of Kropex India, Bangalore while the ‘Super Advisor’ was Syed Irfan of Trident Automobiles, Bangalore.
