GKN Driveline is building a manufacturing plant at Pune that will cater to its clients in western India. The Rs 130 crore facility, which will employ over 200 people, will cater to Volkswagen, Fiat, Tata Motors, General Motors India and Renault.

In the first phase, the new facility will roll out 60,000 CVJ systems. Depending on demand, this capacity can be boosted to 1.2 million in the second phase. The company plans to make differentials from its Transaxle solutions in the second phase.
GKN Driveline has three manufacturing facilities in India located at Dharuhera, Faridabad and Oragadam near Chennai. The company supplies its products to almost all Indian carmakers, with its top three being Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai Motor and Tata Motors. One of its customers is Piaggio Vehicles India, a three-wheeler manufacturer.
