Girish Wagh appointed Tata Motors' head of CV business

Tata Motors today announced the appointment of Girish Wagh as the head of its Commercial Vehicle Business Unit and a member of the Executive Committee.

Girish Wagh will take charge of the new responsibilities with immediate effect and will closely work with Ravindra Pisharody, who resigned earlier this month, for a smooth transition.

Tata Motors, in its statement, has said "the replacement for Wagh as the 'Head of Product Line MHCV' will be announced in due course. In the meanwhile, he will continue to oversee the MHCV0-related scope of responsibilities."

A mechanical engineer from the Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Wagh did a post-graduate programme in manufacturing from the SP Jain Institute of Management and Research before joining Tata Motors in 1992. Wagh has played a key role in the launch of the Tata Indica, Ace small CV and the Nano. Prior to being appointed as the head of the commercial vehicle business unit, he served as senior VP, Planning and Management (Passenger Cars), Tata Motors.
