Ford Figo notches 300,000 sales in 3 years
New Delhi, August 6, 2013. Three years since its India market launch in March 2010, the Ford Figo hatchback has crossed the 300,000 sales mark.
Figo exports from India first began in June 2010 and today the car is exported to over 37 international markets, reinforcing Ford Motor Co’s commitment in making its India plant a world-class manufacturing hub.
“The Figo continues to be a game-changer for Ford in India and has helped position Ford as a significant player. We debuted in the small car segment with the Figo and continue to offer a compelling choice for customers who want a vehicle that offers a quality, safe, fuel efficient and substantial value package. Today, as we celebrate the 300,000 sales milestone, I thank our customers in India and international markets for making the Figo their product of choice and placing their confidence in the Ford brand,” said Joginder Singh, president and managing director, Ford India.
Earlier this year, the company launched the Figo Celebration Edition to celebrate the car’s third anniversary. On the dealership front, Ford India plans to expand its dealer network to 265 sales and service outlets in 142 cities across India. By 2015, the plan is to expand this number to 500 units.
