Fiat India launches Avventura Urban Cross at Rs 6.85 lakh
The car’s pricing slots it right amidst most premium hatchback and crossovers sold in India such as the Baleno, Elite i20 and the Volkswagen Polo.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) India has launched a new variant of the Avventura, christened the Urban Cross at a starting price of Rs 6.85 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).
The carmaker will commence deliveries of the crossover from October 1, 2016, it said in a release today.
The car will be available with diesel engines in two trims – Active and Dynamic – both powered by the 1.3-litre Multijet, 93 PS, 5-speed manual transmission, and one top-of-the-line petrol (powered by Abarth) variant - the 1.4-litre T-Jet, 140 PS, 5-speed manual transmission in the Emotion trim.
The Urban Cross not only borrows its engines from the Avventura, but also most of its styling cues as well. Earlier in February this year, the concept car was showcased at Auto Expo 2016 dawning a lot more chrome and DRLs which have sadly not made it to the production model.
The car’s pricing slots it right amidst most premium hatchback and crossovers sold in India such as the Baleno, Elite i20 and the Volkswagen Polo.
For a limited period that includes the upcoming festive season, the Urban Cross will be offered with burgundy designer Interiors with colour coordinated door inserts, Piano finish door armrests and designer seats with badging. This designer interior package will be available as an option only in the dynamic diesel and the emotion petrol powered by Abarth variants, the carmaker said.
