Faurecia Interior Systems plans Rs 30 crore investment
Chennai, November 15, 2013: Faurecia Interior Systems, a division of Faurecia of France, has announced that it will be investing Rs 30 crore in its Chennai facility.
Chennai, November 15, 2013: Faurecia Interior Systems, a division of Faurecia of France, has announced that it will be investing Rs 30 crore in its Chennai facility. The plant, at present, manufactures door panels, instrument panels and centre consoles solely for the Ford EcoSport compact SUV.
With a just-in-sequence manufacturing capacity of around 360 sets per day, the facility is set to undergo an expansion with this upcoming investment. The plant, per se, is eight months old having been inaugurated this April.
Vidyadhar Limaye, director – India, said, “Faurecia is looking forward to expand this facility to cope up with volume growth from our customer. We have invested Rs 30 crore till this year to build this facility. We plan to invest another Rs 30 crore by mid-2015.”
The 4,300 square metre facility, located a stone’s throw away from Ford India’s manufacturing facility outside Chennai, is equipped with modern and advanced equipment including injection moulding, airbag weakening by milling, vibration welding and heat staking.
