Electric commercial vehicle company Euler Motors today launched its first cargo three-wheeler, the HiLoad EV. Priced at Rs 349,000, pre-bookings for the eco-friendly cargo EV has opened today.

Euler Motors aims to put 5,000 units on road by FY2023 and plans to expand to new markets like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune.

The company claims the HiLoad has highest payload capacity in the three-wheeler cargo segment in India (including ICE), highest battery power (12.4 kWh) and certified range (151km) in a single charge. HiLoad has six segment-first innovations in three-wheeler cargo aimed at delivering higher performance and longer life in Indian road and weather conditions.

The HiLoad battery pack comes with an inbuilt thermal management system and liquid cooling technology that allows vehicles to run efficiently on any gradient and withstand ambient temperatures thus offering a long-lasting battery life. The IP67-certified battery ensures high-end performance and efficient operations in water-logging scenarios as well. The vehicle is equipped with advanced telematics and software assistance for fleet tracking, battery monitoring and real time charging.

In its segment, HiLoad is the first EV to have 200mm front disc brakes for better stopping distance and manoeuvrability. The EV develops 88.55 Nm torque and 10.96 kW peak power, has superior ground clearance, improved gradeability, higher speed and higher acceleration for improved on-road operations.

Sizeable orders in hand
Euler Motors claims a number of mainstream e-commerce players have already executed successful pilots with its EVs for their last-mile delivery requirements, deploying over 250 EVs to date.

BigBasket, Flipkart and Udaan, along with other ecommerce, hyperlocal and B2B delivery players, have already placed an order for 2,500 EVs for intra-city deliveries. These companies will deploy Euler Motors’ EVs across Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai to transform and strengthen their first, mid- and last-mile operations. Deliveries of these vehicles are scheduled to take place in the next 6-8 months.

“This product is set to redefine intra-city logistics in India. HiLoad is a world-class innovation from India, designed for India, boasting several category-first features. It is ready for the world,” said Saurav Kumar, founder and CEO, Euler Motors. “A transition to EVs in the direction that India is already taking, but swift adoption depends on OEMs’ ability to deliver performance and TCO parity, or improvements on these parameters compared to ICE vehicles. A 360deg approach is necessary. Euler Motors is committed to a full stack ecosystem of e-mobility as a service with our new offerings in charging, and maintenance support, in addition to the product itself,” he added.

The company’s new ‘Charge on Wheels’ mobile service station will provide charge and service to the vehicle at any given location or breakdown point. The vehicle has been launched with three new advanced charging variants – home or on-board chargers provided with the vehicles; lightning chargers that can give 50km charge in 15 minutes and Charge on Wheels for an enhanced customer experience.

Euler Motors already manages a network of over 200 charging infrastructure partners in Delhi-NCR to support EVs on ground.
