Euler Motors bags Flipkart, BigBasket order for 2,500 e-three-wheelers

New Delhi-based electric mobility start-up Euler Motors has announced that it has received orders from leading e-commerce players including BigBasket, Flipkart and Udaan among others for 2,500 electric three-wheelers for intra-city deliveries.

As part of the understanding, the companies will deploy Euler Motors’ EV across Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai for first-, mid- and last-mile operations. The OEM says the EV deliveries are scheduled to take place in the next 6-8 months.

Euler Motors is aiming to launch its first three-wheeler L5 cargo vehicle around the festive season this year. At present, it has already deployed over 300 vehicles as part of a pre-launch pilot with e-commerce, FMCG companies for intra-city delivery in Delhi-NCR.

Hari Menon, co-founder, BigBasket said, “With the exponential growth in consumer acceptance of online deliveries and BigBasket’s dedication to electric mobility, we are committed to delivering smooth supply chains and enabling sustainable mobility. Euler Motors has demonstrated compelling advantages and a unique value set on these counts, stemming from superior technology, their design for Indian conditions and relentless focus on user experience. We are delighted in the partnership and look forward to compelling results.”

Euler Motors says it has already clocked over 10 million kilometres, which translates to 1,000 tonnes of saving in carbon emissions and 1 million litres of saved fuel.

Sujeet Kumar, co-founder, Udaan said, "We at Udaan remain steadfast in our endeavour to move our fleet to EVs as they are economical and environmentally friendly. The full stack approach that Euler Motors has taken to help companies transition to electric mobility has given us a lot of comfort in day-to-day operations of our fleet. We have seen a significant rise in operational efficiency and tangible savings as their electric vehicle offers a higher payload capacity when compared to any competing ICE vehicle.”

Saurav Kumar, founder and CEO, Euler Motors said: “We are delighted to see the strong pre-launch order booking, which is testimony to the customer confidence in and the strong performance and value proposition of our product. Our discussions with them have shaped our product deeply, based on valuable insights around customer needs and use case scenarios. Our vision is to transform the commercial EV segment and its impact on India and set global benchmarks. We will soon focus on expanding our capacity and footprint to better meet our customers in more locations and in scale expectations.”

The start-up has already raised funds from ADB Ventures, Blume Ventures, Inventus Capital India, Jetty Ventures. It also manages a network of more than 100 charging infrastructure in Delhi NCR.
