Sixteen months after it launched the 511cc, diesel-engined Multix in 30 Indian cities across 13 states, Eicher Polaris has announced plans to expand its reach to 100 cities by the end of December 2016. To begin with, the new variant will be available in Kerala, Karnataka, Odisha and Tamil Nadu.
The company claims the Multix BS IV will provide improved fuel economy of 27 kilometres per litre. Priced at Rs 343,000 (ex-showroom Jaipur), the Multix will be available in two variants (AX+ and MX) and four colours.
Eicher Polaris says the Multix has undergone over 18,00,000km equivalent of rigorous testing for off-road reliability, safety and durability and has been tested on one of the world’s toughest testing tracks in the USA as well as in India on specially built test tracks before being sold in India.
According to Radhesh C Verma, CEO, Eicher Polaris, “We are ready to meet the growing interest in the Multix, which is a ground-up innovation, designed and engineered for Independent businessmen. The initial response of Multix has been rewarding. We will continue to equip our consumers with the Multix ecosystem and enable them to unlock their potential by accessing a world of new opportunities."
