Ducati launches Monster 821 in India

The latest iteration of the Monster 821 comes with a few cosmetic upgrades and a BS IV compliant engine.

Ducati India has launched its all-new Monster 821 with an ex-showroom introductory price tag of Rs 951,000. The latest addition to the Monster family, which is also celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, is powered by a BS IV compliant, L-twin, 821cc engine that generates peak power output of 109hp at 9250rpm and maximum torque of 8.8 kgm at 7750 rpm.

According to the company, the new Monster 821 comes with a thoroughly redesigned headlight, fuel tank, and exhaust unit among other features. The model also gets colour TFT display unit on its instrument panel for the first time.

The model, which will sit at the top end of the fast-growing midsize motorcycle segment in India, comes equipped with several safety features including the Ducati Safety Pack, which, according to the company, comprises of Bosch 9.1MP ABS system and Ducati Traction Control (both features offer adjustable intervention levels). Another notable tech feature available on the Monster 821 is the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS), an electronic system derived from racing applications that makes it possible to change gears without the use of the clutch.

The all-new Ducati Monster 821 will be available in three shades – yellow, red and black.

Sergi Canovas Garriga, managing director, Ducati India, said, “For the last 25 years, the Monster has consistently delighted biking enthusiasts across the world. This year is the 25th anniversary of the Monster and we’re very proud to introduce the new Monster 821 in India, in this special year. The new Monster 821 has been designed with the aim of creating a slim and a sporty motorcycle which highlights the original concept of “Sport Naked” and gives maximum riding pleasure.”

The company is started accepted  bookings for the Monster 821, and deliveries will commence from the first week of June across all Ducati dealerships in Delhi – NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi and Kolkata.
