Mumbai, October 16, 2013: Dow Corning, a global leader in silicon-based technology and innovation, recently inaugurated its new India Distribution Center (IDC) in Panvel, Maharashtra.
The IDC is a state-of-the-art seven-level storage facility located at the CCI Logistics Park and promises to significantly enhance Dow Corning’s ability to serve customer needs across the country.
Speaking on the development, Diane Kelly (Dow Corning’s President for the India and ASEAN regions), said: “The strategic location of our new world class distribution center will ensure better compliance, safety, productivity and timeliness of delivery. This is a significant step towards meeting the growing customer needs for silicone products and services around the country”.
The IDC adheres to high safety standards, and has equipment such as foam based water sprinkler (in-rack and roof), smoke / beam detector, spill containment pit and fire alarms systems, all of which help in mitigating the risk involved in handling chemicals. In addition, advanced material handling equipments such as reach trucks, dock levelers, scissor lifts and stackers have been deployed. This in turn will ensure safe and efficient operations, which means uninterrupted service to our customers.
The IIDC also facilitates bond-to-bond sale providing duty benefits to customers in exempted zones such as Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and Export Oriented Units (EOUs).
