Kariya (Japan), November 20, 2012: Component major Denso Corporation is to showcase its products and technologies focusing on safety and environment at the FISITA 2012 World Automotive Congress in Beijing, China to be held from November 27-30. FISITA (The International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies) is an international organisation of automotive engineering societies from 37 countries. The FISITA World Automotive Congress is a biennial international conference organised and held in turn by automotive engineering societies in different countries.
In the area of safety, Denso will exhibit a Driver Status Monitor system that detects a driver’s inattentiveness level based on the driver’s facial images captured with a camera embedded in the steering column to contribute to safe driving. The company also will exhibit a Sensing System that incorporates both an image sensor and millimeter wave radar to detect the surroundings of the vehicle, and a vehicle-infrastructure cooperative system based on vehicle-to-infrastructure and vehicle-to-vehicle communications for safety and traffic efficiency.
In the area of environment or fuel efficiency, Denso will exhibit its latest stop/start system products, including the tandem solenoid starter, lithium ion battery pack, and cold storage evaporator. The tandem solenoid starter for stop/start systems is designed to restart the engine during vehicle deceleration or while at a stop light. The lithium ion battery pack efficiently stores regenerative power generated during vehicle deceleration and supplies electric power to necessary electrical and electronic components while cruising. The cold storage evaporator limits the rise in cabin temperature during an idle stop. All of these products help boost fuel efficiency.
The manufacturer will also showcase its SiC small inverter module, which is currently under development. The SiC small inverter module improves performance and reduces the size of inverters that are essential for controlling the motors of hybrid and electric vehicles.
