Danblock Brakes India, which is a part of MAT Holdings Inc of USA, the $700 million (Rs 3200 crore) diversified group with over 30 manufacturing and warehousing plants throughout Asia, Europe and the USA, inaugurated its 100 percent export-oriented unit for manufacturing automotive brake pads at Sonepat, Haryana, on January 20. The Rs 100 crore state-of-the-art manufacturing plant has a production capacity of 40 million disc brake pads per annum.

Dr Steve Wang, the Group chairman of MAT Holdings Inc USA, said, “Danblock manufactures high quality brake pads for cars and commercial vehicles. The quality is based on long-term investments in scientific research, product development and on the use of state-of-the art manufacturing equipment.”

According to K Pandarinath, managing director of Danblock Brakes India, “This plant is the largest brake pad manufacturing facility in Asia. Currently Danblock is a 100 percent export-oriented unit catering to the American market but we have plans to cater to the Indian automotive market very shortly.”
