Daimler India CV sales cross 20,000 units

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles’ (DICV) has announced that sales of its BharatBenz brand trucks have surpassed 20,000 units since market launch in September 2012.

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles’ (DICV) has announced that sales of its BharatBenz brand trucks have surpassed 20,000 units since market launch in September 2012. The milestone comes within a year of crossing the 10,000 unit sales mark on April 10, 2014. DICV had begun manufacturing operations in September 2012. 

Erich Nesselhauf, managing director and CEO, DICV, said: “This milestone of 20,000 BharatBenz trucks shows that even under difficult market conditions of the Indian truck industry, we are fully on track. Our trucks have been well received by Indian customers.”

Sreeram V, vice-president, domestic sales, product management & network, DICV, said, “BharatBenz is gaining momentum in the Indian market. 20,000 trucks is an important milestone for us and we are already among the top three in the heavy duty segment segment.”

Sales in the first two months of the year have recorded a growth of 72 percent over the year-earlier period.

The BharatBenz network and Proserv DICV, the company’s aftersales unit, are significantly increasing the network footprint in the country, with their dealership outlets. As of now, DICV has 81 dealerships that cover 85 percent of the Indian market.
