Daimler AG plans a slew of truck launches

Daimler AG, the world’s largest truckmaker, said it plans to introduce a range of trucks in India in the six to 49-tonnes category. These trucks will be launched under a new brand name that is part of the company’s strategy for entry into the CV market.

According to a PTI report, the Indian arm, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), which is setting up a plant at Oragadam near Chennai, will open 20 dealerships over a two-year period. The company is investing an estimated Rs 4,400crore through its 100 percent Indian arm.
