BKT's CMD inducted in 2018 tyre industry's hall of fame

BKT's CMD inducted in 2018 tyre industry's hall of fame

Balkrishna Industries (BKT), one of India’s leading manufacturer of off-highway tires, announced that its chairman and MD, Arvind Poddar (pictured below) has been inducted in the 2018 Tyre Industry Hall of Fame, which is instituted by the Tire Industry Association (TIA).

The company says the award is in recognition of Poddar's significant impact made within the tyre industry and this honour was conferred to him at an award ceremony held on October 29, 2018 at Paris Las Vegas Hotel in the USA.

The TIA’s Hall of Fame Award is the highest honour for an individual in the tyre industry to achieve. The company says the award is given to honour, preserve and perpetuate the names and outstanding accomplishments of those who have contributed greatly to the growth and development of the tyre industry. And the induction into the hall of fame is the highest honour from TIA and it is conferred on an annual basis to deserving leaders in the tyre industry.

Commenting on the award, Arvind Poddar,  said, “I am delighted to have received this honour from the well-known Tire Industry Association. This accolade isn’t merely a recognition of my life-long contribution to the tyre industry but also an acknowledgement of the outstanding work that BKT has done over the last few decades. In the years ahead, I will continue contributing towards supporting the global tyre industry through BKT’s unmatched efforts at providing technologically and qualitatively superior products.”  

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is an international non-profit association representing all segments of the tyre industry. The mission of TIA is to promote tyre safety through training and education, to act as the principal advocate in government affairs, and to enhance the image and professionalism of the industry so that member businesses may be more successful. TIA has over 9,000 members from all of the 50 US states and also from international markets.
