Bharat Forge, the world’s leading technology solutions provider and manufacturer of heavy-duty diesel crankshafts for commercial vehicles, has rolled out the one-millionth finished machined crankshaft that powers heavy-duty engines of Daimler.

Bharat Forge exclusively supplies machined crankshafts for the 13-litre and 15-litre engine platforms to Detroit Diesel, USA. Additionally, Bharat Forge also shares the 13-litre platform with Daimler’s Mannheim plant in Germany. These flagship engines of Daimler are considered to be among the most technology-enabled high-performance heavy-duty engines in commercial vehicles.

Bharat Forge has been a long-standing partner of Daimler for almost two decades now. The company has a long and successful history as a strategic supplier-partner for the critical finish machined front axle beams, machined crankshafts and steering knuckles to Daimler plants in Germany, USA, Japan, Brazil and India.

Baba Kalyani, chairman and managing director of Bharat Forge, said, “We are immensely proud of this privilege and thank Daimler for this strategic relationship that has enabled us to achieve this marquee milestone. Collaboration between Daimler and Bharat Forge engineering teams have achieved significant gains in the product performance - the key driver of this successful journey. We keenly look forward to many more milestones together with Daimler.”

Dr. Marcus Schoenenberg, Head of Procurement, Daimler Trucks & Buses,  said: “Thank you, Bharat Forge for more than one million crankshafts in a state-of-the-art quality. For more than 15 years of constant performance. For bringing your innovative entrepreneurship and engineering passion into our Daimler Trucks.
