Bajaj Group contributes Rs 10 crore to Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund

In a bid to help in the rehabilitation and rebuilding efforts for the earthquake affected in Nepal, the Bajaj Group has announced a contribution of Rs 10 crore to the relief fund. The aid will be routed through the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund of India.

A further sum of Rs 50 lakh is provided to SEWA, an NGO dedicated to needy and self-employed women workers in Nepal, mainly directed to its cluster at Konkhana.

Rakesh Sharma, president – International Business for Bajaj Auto, said, “Nepal has seen an unprecedented disaster. In this time of distress, we stand by our friends in Nepal and this contribution is a small reaffirmation of our commitment to the people of Nepal. Through our distributor M/S Hansraj Hulaschand, we are also ensuring that immediate relief is provided to the affected people.”

He added,” Nepal is a very important country for Bajaj Auto and we have been there for more than 20 years.  We have over 350,000 Bajaj motorcycles on the country’s roads. We are working with our consumers, dealers and technicians towards the quick repair of damaged vehicles so that people can be mobile once again.”

Bajaj Auto’s motorcycles are widely available across 46 districts of Nepal through 175 dealerships and service centres which employ over 2,000 persons.
