Bajaj Auto rolls out BS-III compliant three wheelers in India

Bajaj Auto has launched two BS III-compliant three- wheelers – the RE205D and RE205M. While the RS 205D comes with a 200cc oil-cooled engine, the RE 205D comes with an improved twin fork front suspension and comfortable driver seat, the company says.
The RE205D also comes equipped with twin halogen headlamps and single-piece front windshield to offer more driver visibility. It comes with a warranty of one year or 40,000km.
RE205D is available in two fuel variants – CNG and LPG.
The RE205 claims to offer a mileage of 40kpl under actual operating conditions along with additional space for luggage. Both vehicles will be launched in a phased manner across India.
While the RE 205D will
cost Rs 1,27,300 (CNG -
ex-showroom Delhi),
the RE 205M will retail
at Rs 1,36,840(CNG -
ex-showroom Delhi.)
R C Maheshwari, CEO-Commercial Vehicles, Bajaj Auto, said: “The new RE range will deliver more mileage, more reliability, more durability and more comfort.
The launch of the new RE range vehicles in BS III much before the October deadline indicates our commitment to a green environment.”
Bajaj Auto sold 337,125 three-wheelers in 2009-20 as against 265,275 units in the previous fiscal.
