BAJAJ AUTO HAS launched the next-generation Pulsar 200 NS (Naked Sport) for the Maharashtra market, priced at Rs 84,096 (ex-showroom, Pune). It comes a little over a decade after the original Pulsar was launched in 2001.
The highlights of the latest Pulsar include a 200cc liquid-cooled SOHC four-valve triple-spark engine claimed to provide fast and optimal combustion – 27 percent faster than twin spark and 50 percent faster than a single-spark engine – and will set new benchmarks in performance, emission and also fuel efficiency. Plus a six-speed gearbox, pressed steel perimeter frame and a rectangular tube section swingarm that help deliver over three times the lateral stiffness of a Pulsar 220 frame and facilitate high-speed handling and cornering stability; gas-filled nitrox mono suspension for improved ride and handling, and front and rear petal disc brakes.
Commenting on the launch, Sanjay Saraswat, vice-president (marketing), Bajaj Auto, said: “These sporty iconic motorcycles have been a testimony to the company’s engineering prowess. The Pulsar 200 NS showcases the next leap in technology and design and will set the standard for others to follow. We are launching the first Pulsar 200 NS in Maharashtra. It will then be progressively launched in the rest of the country.”
