Bajaj Auto to launch Dominar 400 on December 15

Bajaj Auto today officially named its biggest and most powerful motorcycle as the Dominar 400. The Dominar 400 is to be unveiled on December 15, 2016.

Confirming the launch, Eric Vas, president (Motorcycle Business), Bajaj Auto, said: “The Dominar 400 has already created a lot of excitement amongst bikers, which is befitting for what’s going to be one of the most pathbreaking products in the history of the Indian motorcycle industry.”

The first Dominar 400 motorcycle rolled out from Bajaj Auto’s Chakan plant on November 18 from an assembly line managed only by women engineers.

The Dominar 400 will be powered by the same engine used in the KTM Duke 390. Bajaj Auto, however, is sure to have incorporated tuning changes to this 373cc motor to suit the cruiser's touring-oriented nature. The engine, which develops 35hp should get Bajaj’s signature triple-spark technology and come mated to a six-speed gearbox.

Bajaj Auto will use a derivative of the KTM 390’s 373cc single-cylinder engine to power the new 400cc bike. Featuring fuel injection, liquid-cooling and Bajaj’s patented triple-spark plug technology.
