Pune, July 22, 2013: Baba Kalyani, chairman and managing director of Bharat Forge, has been conferred the ‘IOD Distinguished Fellowship Award 2013’. The award was presented to him on July 19 at New Delhi by Dr M Veerappa Moily, Union minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas in the presence of a distinguished international gathering of business leaders, experts, jurists, economists, legislators and policy makers on the occasion of IOD’s 24th Annual Day.
The award was conferred on Baba Kalyani for his distinguished track record of entrepreneurship that has set extremely high standards of ethical and transparent conduct and for Bharat Forge’s contribution towards building Brand India.
Accepting the Award, Baba Kalyani said, “Bharat Forge has always been globally committed to the highest standards of corporate governance in terms of transparency, regulatory compliances and best practices while keeping its focus on sustained and responsible growth across various continents. I accept this honour as a major endorsement of our corporate philosophy by an outstanding institution of excellence. It is, indeed, a great honour to be considered worthy of the IOD Distinguished Fellowship Award.”
The Institute of Directors (IOD), a registered society, was established in 1990 as an independent, apex association of directors, to spearhead India’s quality drive and build Brand India by focusing on directors’ training and development. Its main focus is on building tomorrow’s leaders by realigning their moral compass and making them more ethical, transparent and accountable.
