The fifth editon of the Parx Super Car Show in Mumbai witnessed high drama on the second day of the event as an Audi R8 caught fire while cruising in traffic on Sunday.
The car was not a participant in the parade, but the incident took place at the Worli-end of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, which was part of the route of the Parx Supercar Parade 2013. The parade was delayed for nearly two hours as traffic on the stretch came to a standstill because of the mishap.
The fire, it is believed, was caused due to aftermarket modifications carried out on the car. Cars like the Audi R8 are complex high-tech machines and any mods carried out need to be done by component and experienced professionals.
