Ashok Leyland to supply 3,019 buses to KSRTC

Ashok Leyland, flagship of the Hinduja Group, today confirmed that it will supply Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) 3,019 buses at the cost of Rs 650 crores.

The order stated to be is one of the largest from a State Transport Undertaking to a single OEM, expected to be completed in the current financial year.

Speaking on the order, T. Venkataraman, senior VP, Global Buses, Ashok Leyland, said, “Our buses are durable, robust, and employ the latest in technology. This order will fulfill requirements from KSRTC, NWKRTC, BMTC and NEKRTC. The order includes 210” WB, fully built Karnataka Saarige Bus on 210’ WB chassis, fully built Rajahamsa Bus on 222” WB, fully built non-AC sleeper coaches on 222” WB chassis and fully built Midi buson 205” WB chassis.
