ARAI to hold proficiency improvement programme on ‘Automotive reverse engineering’

May 3: To cater to the needs of industry professionals and academia, the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) has started a series of Proficiency Improvement Programmes (PIPs) through its academy.

The next five-day programme on Automotive Reverse Engineering (Benchmarking, Metrology, 3D Scan, Rapid Prototyping)’ is scheduled at ARAI, Pune, from May 21-25 in association with Geo Informatics Consultant and Stratasys Inc.

The highlights of the programme include:

• Rapid prototyping and manufacturing and impact over product development cycle

• Engine benchmarking

• Engine test cell calibration

• Vehicle benchmarking

• Dimensional metrology of vehicles and components

• 3D scan

• Working of scanners

• Methods of reverse engineering (along with video)

• Gap, flushness and seal gap measurement

• Application of additive manufacturing in rapid prototyping

• Direct digital manufacturing

• 2- and 4-wheeler benchmarking and rapid prototyping

• Selection of material for reverse engineering

• Live demo on scanner, inspection, rapid prototyping
