Anand Mahindra, Venu Srinivasan appointed as non-official RBI directors

Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra and TVS Motor Company Chairman Emeritus Venu Srinvasan have been appointed as non-official directors on the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Central board.
According to the RBI Act, the government nominates 10 eminent persons from various fields to the central board of the RBI. The Central Bank’s day-to day functioning is governed by the central board of directors.
The nominations have been made for four years by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), the RBI said in a notification.
Besides Anand Mahindra and Venu Srinvasan, Zydus Life sciences Chairman Pankaj R Patel and Ravindra H Dholakia, former economics area faculty at IIM Ahmedabad were also appointed to the RBI central board.
