AMW unveils next generation trucks, debuts Magnus bus

Asia MotorWorks (AMW) used the Auto Expo to showcase its next-generation models. The commercial vehicme manufacturer unveiled the 4928 TR tractor, 2528 TP tipper and a luxurious new front-engined bus called Magnus.

Asia MotorWorks (AMW) used the Auto Expo to showcase its next-generation models. The commercial vehicme manufacturer unveiled the 4928 TR tractor, 2528 TP tipper and a luxurious new front-engined bus called Magnus. Also on display is a new 37-tonne, 10*4, five-axle, haulage truck called the 3723 HL. All the models have been developed indigenously by AMW.

The 4928 TR is a 49-tonne tractor powered by a 267hp, common-rail, electronically controlled, Cummins diesel engine, mated to a nine-speed Eaton gearbox. The 4928 TR will have a number of applications including container cargo movement.

AMW also unveiled the new 2528 TP model which uses the same engine as in the 4928 TR but with a nine-speed ZF gearbox. This model is targeted at the mining and construction segments.

Of much interest is the well-appointed and driver-friendly cabin on both models which meets global standards of aesthetics, safety and ergonomics and is styled by Stile Bertone in Italy, which is a world leader in automotive styling and design. With a length of 2307mm, width of 2435mm and height of 2913mm, it is one of the largest cabins in the market.

Meanwhile, with the new Magnus, AMW has announced its entry into the bus market. This 14.3-metre-long inter-city bus offers a host of comfort features for passengers.
