Ampere Electric appoints Roy Kurian as COO for its two- and three-wheeler business

Roy Kurian, previously with Tork Motors and India Yamaha Motor, will report to Greaves Group CEO and MD Nagesh Basavanhalli.

Ampere Electric appoints Roy Kurian as COO for its two- and three-wheeler business

Ampere Electric, the electric mobility subsidiary of Greaves Cotton, has announced the appointment of Roy Kurian as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of its e-mobility business covering electric two-and three-wheelers, with immediate effect. He will report to Nagesh Basavanhalli, Group CEO and MD, Greaves Cotton.

Prior to joining Ampere Electric, Roy was associated with India Yamaha Motor for 17 years as senior vice-president Most recently, he was associated with EV start-up Tork Motors as the sales and marketing head.

Commenting on Kurian joining the company, Nagesh Basavanhalli, Group CEO and MD, Greaves Cotton, said, “At Ampere Electric, our mission is to decarbonise the last-mile mobility solutions using responsible technology. Roy Kurian has joined us to drive next level of growth and further boost our leadership position in the EV segment.”

Roy Kurian, COO, E-Mobility Business (2W & 3W), Ampere Electric, said, “I am delighted to be part of Ampere Electric family. In my new role, I aim to strengthen Ampere’s presence in the electric vehicle segment and achieve leadership position in both electric two- and three-wheelers.”

According to Ampere Electric, it has seen “substantial growth both in terms of sales and improved livelihoods for drivers.” The company has 300 dealerships (e-two-wheeler) in over 230 towns and cities in the country.
