2018 IRCOBI Asia conference to be held in India
For the first time, India is going to witness a certified workshop on Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS), which will be organised by the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM).
The second IRCOBI ASIA 2018 conference is to be held from April 25-27, 2018 at the L&T Leadership Development Academy in Lonavala, Maharashtra. The conference aims to provide fundamental knowledge and basic research to help Asian countries with various road safety issues.
The IRCOBI (International Research Council on the Biomechanics of Injury) council created the biennial IRCOBI Asia conference to encourage a scientific approach in understanding safety issues, adopting injury research and promoting knowledge sharing, especially amongst the younger generation of engineers, students and academicians.
The first edition one was conducted in Seoul in 2016. The second edition will be the the first time that it will be conducted in India. The theme of the conference that will be held in India is ‘Creating leaders in injury prevention and control.’
Significance of the 2018 conference
For the first time, India is going to witness a certified workshop on Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS), which will be organised by the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM). Injury scaling technique is one of the fundamental requirements for injury research.
Professor Hermann Stefan from DSD (Dr Steffan Datentechnik), Austria will deliver the keynote speech. He is well-known for the PC-Crash accident reconstruction software. The event will also host technical paper presentations from various researchers and there will also be an accident research competition.
The event is sponsored by JP research, Collision Research and Analytics, 5G, Dr Steffan Datentechnik (DSD) and Autoliv. The event is conducted in association with MoRTH (Ministry of Road Transport and Highways), Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM), RASSI (Road Accident Sampling System India)and Save Life foundation. The council consists of committee members from many countries around the world.
